Impotence Medication

This article will give some of the important information about several of the medicines available for treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). Impotence medication may vary from hormonal supplements to enlargement and libido enhancements. Three of the most well-known, thanks to television commercials are: Cialis (Tadalafil), Levitra (Vardenafil) and Viagra (Sildenafil). Others such as yohimbe, zenegra and caverta are not as commonly known.

Cialis (Tadalafil) – A fast working low dose option taken only when needed for mild to severe erectile dysfunction problems lasting up to 36 hours but not proven to work for more than one sexual experience with each dose. Cialis works effectively for men with diabetes and high blood pressure.

Levitra(Vardenafil) – A fast working option taken no more than once a day and stronger than Cialis. The possibility of overdose when taking Vardenafil does exist and has been known to have many varying side effects.

Viagra (Sildenafil) – Taken 30 minutes before sex on empty stomach and lasts up to hours. Does have mild to severe side-effects and not recommended for many with existing health problems.

Yohimbe – A natural drug (name means bark of a tree) which is a sexual enhancement medication. Yohimbe’s strength is also its weakness in that the stimulation cause by the drug can also cause heart palpitations and excitability but few reported severe side effects.

Zenegra – Similar to Viagra but with mild to no side effects and most common side effects are due to higher dosages.

Caverta – Similar to Viagra but with mild to moderate side effects which can include headache, dizziness, nasal congestion and indigestion.

Many other medications and alternatives do exist so the need for discussion with your family doctor is a must. Never take for granted that what is right for one person is right for the others as there are many causes of erectile dysfunction and each can require a different medication and/or treatment.
